-= Day 1: A Purpose-Filled Life =-

“For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.”
— Colossians 1:16 (NIV) —

Arrogant… That’s the first thing that comes to mind when I read the NIV version of these words. Wow, this boy is cocky. But then I remember, this is God we’re talking about here. If anyone has any reason to be arrogant/ confident, it would be HIM.

So I read over this again, and it kinda hits me more like a statement of fact. Kinda like the feeling you get when someone says a truth you’d rather not hear: “You’re going to die.”

The first chapter of the book says that any search for purpose must start with God. If you try to start anywhere else, it will get you nowhere. The analogy used is the following. If you are (as Christians assume) a creation of God, God would be the person to know its purpose. How can an invention argue with the inventor?

We were created by him and for him.
Sheesh, talk about being slotted into a pigeon hole. God’s like: I made you and I made you for myself. God has a reason for everything and everyone. This isn’t just a random mix of chaos that it seems to be. God’s at work everywhere, we just need to look for his finger print…

Visible and invisible… just the thought of invisible stuff… guh. Viruses, bacteria, demons? All I can think is… what is all that for?? But I’ve gotta trust that God’s got a purpose for those as well….

Thones, powers, rulers, and authorities. God made all of these forces. Personally, I’d rather He kept those in design and never implemented them… but that’s this puny human talking. But it gets you thinking, what kind of power does God have?

things in heaven and on earth. God rules it all and God made it all. God is most definitely supreme. Yeah, there are plenty of things to offend people here. Where do tolerance and truth meet? How do you speak the truth without cramming it down someone’s throat? yeah… good stuff. ^_^

== Dreams ==
Trying to kill roaches the size of your hand, friends chilling at your place, worrying about a girl, visiting a restaurant full of beehives and bees.

Yeah, weird dream this morning after I slapped the snooze…
