I’m trying to memorize some verses, I think My sword is getting dull and my defenses weak. Anyone want to do it with me? (I’ll be the first to admit my memorization skills sux.)

I stink at memorizing, I’d do it with you, but uhhh the verse you chose is particularly not apropos for me :p 😉

I have often wondered why we can remember the lyrics to songs. We can remember the words from songs that we heard from years ago, and yet we have a difficult time memorizing scripture. When I decided to go to LifePoint School of Ministry,(remember I’ve been out of school for 30 yrs now 🙂 ) I told myself, if I can remember the lyrics from songs from like 20 or 30 yrs ago, then I can remember all of the scripture I needed to for school. I had all of the excuses including my age haha! But, remember who your enemy is and how much he does not want you to remember the Word of God! He will give you every excuse for why you shouldn’t be able to remember. But, we live by the Word of God and it says you can do all things through Christ, it does say all things there right?? 🙂 That includes memorizing scripture…I know you can do it!

anyhoo… yeah, i would love to be a guinea pig but then again, i wouldn’t be so comfortable w/ an hombre giving me one. plus i’m really tickle-ish & spazz out on occasion. in response to your entry– when my defenses are down, it’s usually when i’m butt tired & satan throws some crazy thought into my head. i use this 5 second rule that’s been working for me. i make a decision in 5 seconds either to keep on sinning & disobeying God, or i consciously pluck that sinful thought out of my brain & throw it back @ satan. ask God for help!! it always comes down to that decision doesn’t it? yes or no. obey or disobey. keep watching r rated stuff or watch cartoons. peanut butter or jam? hehe.. jus kidding. God will help you overcome any situation.
