Thought of The Day: The Biggest What-if the world will ever know…

We have lots of different what-if’s in our lives. What if I date this person? What if (s)he doesn’t like me like that? What if they think I’m a dork? What if things don’t turn out right? What if God exists? What if there’s more to this life? and it brings me to what I believe is the biggest what-if every single person in this world will have to face… What if Jesus actually did die and come back to life?

I know, I know, I’m sure lots of people are like, who gives, and why would it matter to me?

Well, for one…death is not permanent. Eternity exists. I can meet my friends again someday. There is a sunset and when we ride off into it, there’s always going to be another sunrise afterward.

Two, God loves us. It’s a bit of a toughie to explain, but God sending his innocent son to die on our behalf is an act of sacrificial love. God’s version of justice is a bit wacked from my point of view. But this is necessary for us to receive grace and mercy.

Which brings me to the third point, there’s more than just this life. Something beyond this world which mixes all these good things and bad things together. Imagine where all good things are actually good things, and awesome, unbelieveable things that any normal person would say no-way-in-hell-can-that-be-true… are actually true. That’s heaven. Forget about all this power struggle, saving all my money for myself, running the rat race, living only to please myself and overall dog-eat-dog world. I’m holding out for something better.

Add to this, the resurrection takes the values of this world and flips them upside down. There is nothing we can take from this life into the next, except for other people. So in terms of our priorities, everything is about relationships. Our relationship with God. Our relationship with family, friends, and even our enemies take on extreme importance. Who needs to hoard money, when heavens roads are paved in jewels?

The best things in this life are also going to be the best things in the next life… being with a friend, sharing the joys of life with someone. Take that one moment that you wish could last forever… you know what I’m talking about, that One Moment where time almost stood still for you. Stretch that out till forever and I’d like to think, you’d have heaven.

Just some thoughts for this hump-day.

P.S. I’ll answer all the questions you guys have been posting and also put up a post for Zechariah… soon. 😉

Have you thought about what if “god” doesn’t exist, and what you have been believing is all a lie? What if other people in the past used the bible to use people for their own purpose. What if people use religion to restrict other people from doing evil deeds, which is benefitual for society, instead of flowing god’s word to be save.

what if Jesus never died for us? there’s a phrase in chinese that pretty much means, if you add up a lot of ‘what ifs’ then the whole outcome would be different….it sounds better in chinese because it kinda rhymes….

Vegito, to answer your question. If God don’t exist, it isn’t just Christianity that is screwed up.. it is every single world religion that is screwed up, the fact that every people in the world worships some sort of a god, must indicate there has to be something there. Question you should be asking is who is God?

Second thing Vegito, if you are talking about ha256’s god not exist (which is the same one I believe) then tell me someone. If he had follow the commands of this “factious” god, would he have not still lived an excellent life. For if you read the Bible, the standards that are set is incredibly high. Dare I say it, it would be higher than any human can obtain to. So in the eyes of other religion, ha256 would still have lived a good life and I don’t think that is living a lie rather practising what he preaches. The question you have to ask yourself here is: What if ha256 is right and believes in the true God? Then what happens to you? That is the risk you want to take?

Vegito, personally I wish you the best in your search.

ha256, you forgot one BIG “what if”.. What if xanga was down?? *Scream*.. Unthinkable ! :headbanger:
